    Yes, the riders continue to count their matches. Like us mere mortals, the riders of tour 2006 pay for the efforts. If it were Voigt in Yellow, I think Phonak would be a bit more worried because he still had plenty left at the end of today’s stage and a madman’s ability to hang tough.

    Perreiro Sio crossed the line today on empty. He may be able to hide out in the Peloton tomorrow and keep yellow until the first day in the Alps but my guess is that he won’t keep pace of Col du It’s so Hard.

    Actually…handing the yellow to a no-name rider of a second-tier team is brilliant strategy. They will fight tomorrow to keep the group together to prolong their moment in the sun.
